Cookie policy

This policy explains the cookies and similar technologies Window Quotes Wizard uses on this website, and why. Read it alongside our privacy policy.

What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. We also use your browser’s local storage in the same way. Together they let the site remember information between pages and visits.

Cookies we set

When you land on the site we set first-party wml_* cookies that record marketing attribution — where your visit came from — so that if you go on to request quotes we can understand which advert or link helped. These store campaign values (UTM source, medium, campaign and term) and advertising click identifiers (such as a Google gclid or a Meta fbclid/fbc), plus the page you first arrived on. The same values are mirrored in local storage. These cookies expire after 90 days.

CookiePurposeExpiry

wml_gclid, wml_fbc, wml_fbp and other wml_* click identifiersRecord the advert click that referred you90 days

Analytics and tag manager

We may later enable Google Tag Manager to load analytics or advertising tags. When that happens, those tags may set their own cookies (for example Google Analytics _ga cookies, or advertising cookies) and this policy will be updated to declare them. They are not active until tagging is switched on.

Managing cookies

You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings, and clear the site’s local storage the same way. Blocking these cookies will not stop the quote form working, but our marketing attribution will be less accurate. For more on managing cookies see the ICO’s guidance.
